We offer you the perfect mix of adventure, sightseeing and meeting the local culture. Discover the Dhofar region in small groups or in private (on request). Your German-speaking tour guide is a real insider, knows the country and its people, shows you all the highlights and has lots of insider tips. You travel comfortably in a fully air-conditioned four-wheel drive vehicle (soft drinks and small snacks included).
We drive with you to the fishing village Taqah, which is known for its dried sardines and its traditional and old Dhofari houses. Afterwards we will see the ruins of Sumhurum Port (Khor Rori) at the most eastern outpost of Hadramawt Kingdom, located on the ancient Incense Route. We continue along the coastal roads to the old town of Mirbat, a former center for Arab horses and slave trade. See the tomb of Bin Ali, the fortress, and the old department stores. Our last stop takes us to the harbor and fish market where we end the tour with a cup of Omani tea.

Especially after the rainy season (Khareef) this wadi is beautifully green. From there it goes up into the mountains of Jebel Samhan, the highest mountain in Dhofar at 1800m. The area is also known as the Grand Canyon of Dhofar and offers fantastic views of the east coast and the Qara Mountains. This tour also takes us to the sink holes where we can see and hear rare species of birds. Over the mountain range it goes back to the coast to the fishing village Taqah.

If you are in Salalah, you shouldn't miss a trip to the Rhub Al Khali desert. The first stop on the way to the largest connected desert in the world is Thumrait. The city was historically an important stopover on the incense trade route. Then we visit the "Lost City of Ubar", which was only discovered in 1992 with the help of NASA aerial photographs. Now we reach the "Empty Quarter" as the desert is called: Breathtaking sand dunes build up in front of your eyes and can be climbed. Take in the silence and unique impressions and experience an unforgettable sunset.

We also offer the desert tour to the Rhub Al Khali desert with an overnight stay in the desert camp: After we have experienced the sunset on the sand dunes, we drive to the desert camp. There we enjoy a local dinner and move into our Bedouin tents. If you want, you can listen to the stories from 1001 nights that the Bedouins tell around the campfire and look at the gigantic starry sky. The next morning, early risers can marvel at the sunrise in the camp. After breakfast, it's back to Hawana Salalah.
